New Design - Love Grows

Okay, so I've been working on this new design and want to see what everyone thinks. I haven't decided on the colors yet and there's always a little more tweaking to do, but it's pretty close to being ready for print. So give me your honest opinions.

The concept is simple, out of our hearts grows life, love, compassion...etc. This is represented by the tree growing out of the heart, and the roots that form a cross.

So here's the preview:
I want to make the top of the tree bleed onto the inside if the shirt, with the CYH logo knocked out instead of the tag.

Still not sure about the green on green, but it could look really cool.

The design by itself. Click on it to zoom in.

Check it out.

Hello, Welcome to the Cross Your Heart blog

The Cross Your Heart Clothing project is officially underway! This Saturday 3 dozen blank shirts and I drove up to Orange County to meet up with Jon May (my friend who also works at an awesome athletic apparel screen printing shop).

So here's a quick look behind the scenes of our first shirt.

First we had to get lunch. Ummm, Chinese.

Okay, on to the real work. The first thing you need to make a screen printed tee is a screen (with a design burn into it). I had burned the CYH design a couple days before to save time, so we were ready to roll.

Next, line it up on the press.

First, the test print, took 3 test prints to get it right (it was tricky because the design is supposed to be off-center.

After the test print is ready and lined up it's time for the tees.

And on to the printing.
Here's the first ever Cross Your Heart tee. I'm very happy with how they turned out. The only thing I'm going to change for next time is to make a larger screen for the bigger tees. Don't get me wrong, the logo still looks great on the large and XL but I liked how it fit on the smaller shirts best.

And the last step is to dry them.

Lookin' good

Thanks for supporting this project and thanks to everyone who pre-ordered a shirt. All the info on how to finalize your order will be coming soon.
