Justice Day was great!
Justice Day on Saturday was awesome, thanks to everyone who came. Check out some pictures on our Facebook page. It was good to get out there meet new people and spread the word about CYH. More than that though, it was great seeing all the other charities and missions that exist to help others. It's always very inspirational meeting and talking to the people putting their lives out there for the sake of others. I wanted to share some of the organizations I learned about with you:
Generate Hope:
Similar to Hidden Treasures, Generate Hope exists to help victims of human trafficking but their focus is on providing dedicated housing and a comprehensive recovery program for women and girls, ages eighteen to thirty who have been sexually exploited and/or trafficked. Basically creating a safe place for these victims to recover and learn. Find out more at: www.generatehope.org
Plant with Purpose:
Helps poor rural farmers, who are completely dependent on their environment, practice sustainable development. Check it out: plantwithpurpose.org
Breaking Chains:
Fighting at street level for the lives of helpless children in Latin America. breakingchains.ning.com
San Diego friends of fair trade:
Reduce world poverty by increasing the knowledge and use of Fair Trade in San Diego. fairtradesd.org
Nika Water:
Awesome bottled water that uses 100% of its profits to bring clean water and sanitation to underprivileged areas around the world. nikawater.org
These were just some of the great causes repersented on Saturday. Hopefully this becomes a yearly event and if you didn't make it this year I hope to see you next year.
